Dummy ticket for a Singapore entry visa, delivered in 30 minutes.
A confirmed-style onward reservation for the Form 14A file, with dates that match your SG Arrival Card and your hotel stay.
Singapore names it directly in its own requirements: a confirmed onward or return ticket. For Indian passport holders that document is part of the visa file, and it is checked again at arrival. It is one of the few destinations where the ticket is not background evidence but a listed requirement.
Singapore lists a confirmed onward ticket as a requirement
The immigration authority's published criteria for entry include sufficient funds for the stay and a confirmed onward or return ticket to a country you have the right to enter. Because that is written into the requirement rather than inferred, the reservation should clearly show the return leg and the date, and it should be in the same name as the passport.
You cannot apply directly — the authorised agent route
Individual applicants do not lodge the visa themselves. Applications are submitted through a local contact or an authorised visa agent, who files on your behalf and returns the outcome. That intermediary will ask for your form, photograph, passport pages, and travel details in one package, so the reservation needs to be ready before the submission rather than after.
Form 14A and the documents behind it
- Form 14A, completed and signed.
- Passport with at least six months validity and a blank page.
- Recent photograph meeting the specification.
- Return or onward flight reservation.
- Hotel booking for the stay, or host details.
- Bank statement and evidence of employment or business.
The stay period on the form, the hotel dates, and the flight dates are read together. A two-week form with a four-night hotel booking is the kind of mismatch that prompts a request for more documents.
The SG Arrival Card is separate
The SG Arrival Card is a health and arrival declaration submitted in the three days before you land. It is not a visa and it does not replace one, and it requires your flight number and accommodation address — both of which come from the reservation. Submitting it with the correct details is a two-minute task if the documents are to hand, and a frustrating one if they are not.
What the e-Visa looks like
The approved visa arrives as a PDF, usually by email, and is presented with the passport at immigration. It carries the visa reference, the number of entries, and the validity dates. Check the name spelling and the passport number the moment it arrives — corrections are far easier before you travel than at the counter.
Arrival checks at Changi
Officers check the passport, the visa, the onward booking, and sometimes the funds evidence and the SG Arrival Card confirmation. Keep all four accessible offline. Biometrics are captured at the automated lanes on arrival, and the process is quick when the documents are in order.
