Dummy ticket for a B1/B2 interview file, delivered in 30 minutes.
An itinerary built around the travel dates already on your DS-160, with a matching hotel reservation, so the interview file tells one consistent story.
A US visa interview is not a test of whether you can afford a ticket. It is a test of whether the consular officer believes you will come back. A flight itinerary helps because it turns a vague travel plan into dates the officer can weigh against the rest of your file — but only if it agrees with what you already wrote on the DS-160.
Start from the DS-160, not from the itinerary
The DS-160 has a travel section that asks for your intended arrival date, intended length of stay, the US address where you will stay, and who is paying for the trip. Those answers are on screen when the interview begins. If the form says 12 June and your itinerary says 3 July, you have handed the officer a question you now have to explain.
We build the itinerary from the dates already on your form. If you have not submitted the DS-160 yet, tell us the dates you intend to enter and the city you named, and the reservation will match them.
Why buying a ticket before the interview is a bad trade
The consulate does not require a confirmed, paid ticket. It requires a credible travel plan. Buying a non-refundable fare before the decision means a refusal, an administrative processing delay, or a rescheduled interview leaves you holding a ticket you cannot use. A reservation gives the officer the same information — carrier, routing, entry and exit dates — without that exposure.
Be straightforward about what the document is. A reservation is a reservation. Presenting it as a paid ticket is where applicants get into difficulty, not the reservation itself.
Dates that must line up across your file
- DS-160 arrival and departure — the itinerary has to mirror these exactly.
- Employer or leave letter — approved leave should cover the same window.
- Bank statements — the balance should look consistent with a trip of that length.
- Hotel reservation — check-in should be the arrival date, in the city named on the form.
Mismatches across these four are what turn a routine interview into a longer one.
What the officer may ask to see
Most B1/B2 interviews are short and document-light, but officers can ask for the letter from your employer, recent bank statements, property or business papers, and details of who is hosting you. Keep the itinerary and the hotel voucher printed in the same folder, in the order these questions usually come.
Appointment wait times change the plan
Interview availability at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata moves independently, and waits can run from days to many months. That is another reason not to lock in a paid fare early. If your appointment moves, send us the new date and we will reissue the reservation to match — reissue is part of the service, not a new order.
If the interview ends in a 214(b) refusal
A 214(b) refusal means the officer was not persuaded of non-immigrant intent. It is not a permanent bar, but reapplying with the same file usually produces the same result. What changes an outcome is stronger evidence of ties — stable employment, business ownership, family responsibilities, previous travel — not a more expensive ticket.
